Become an Archaeology Trainee!

We are looking to recruit two archaeology trainees!

You'll both be hosted by Archaeological Project Services for a duration of 6 months. During that time you will spend your days training alongside experienced archaeologists on live sites, gaining an insight into all aspects of site work from community and research archaeology, through to commercial site work. You'll also learn about necessary desk based preparation for site work and how to process finds and information after an excavation has been completed. Together this will go towards the work you need to do to complete the British Archaeological Jobs Resource (BAJR) Skills Passport; a practically based competency assessment framework for field archaeologists that should set you up to continue your journey to being a a confident field archaeologist after the placement ends.

To apply you can download the Expression of interest form and email it back to [email protected] or feel free to email us and ask for one instead.

The deadline for applications is: 11:59pm on Sunday 22nd November 2020. The Historic Environment Skills project is not bound to consider any applications which arrive after this deadline.

Interviews are scheduled to take place week beginning 7th December for a placement start on Monday 25th January 2021.
