It's been a busy November for the Historic Enviornment Skills Project; as now that our current six trainees have got stuck into their placements with our partners at Lincoln Cathedral and Heritage Lincolnshire, we are on the hunt for the placement providers and trainees of 2019!  If you are a skilled traditional buildings crafts person in the East Midlands thinking about taking on a trainee or an individual wishing to begin a fascinating new career, please get in touch to learn about how HES can help you.

Take Over Day 2018

The Heritage Skills Centre were lucky enough to take part in this years Kids in Museums Take Over day. We were joined by some of the students from Sir Francis Hill Community Primary School on Friday 23 November. They got to have a go at some stone carving and were clearly all trainees in the making. The students were also tasked with helping us think of some new ideas that would help us promote the HES project and what sort of online content would they like to see and find interesting. We were impressed with their suggestions and even took some of their ideas to our project steering group for discussion.

A big thank you to the all the students and we will happily have you back to learn more about heritage skills soon!
