Workshop information
In this full day workshop, you’ll have the chance to explore the magic of wet felting and create an A3 size felted flag inspired by Medieval imagery.
This workshop will introduce you to simple wet felting techniques using a mix of Merino wool and other textures, Eve Marshall has been felting for over 15 years and loves to share her own quick wet felting techniques during her workshops. Learn how to create your flag using layers of wool and add your chosen image to the background using wool curls, pre felt and silk fibres.
Wet felting begins with adding hot soapy water to your flag. Learn how to agitate the fibres to begin the felting process. Wet felting takes about 25 minutes and requires a bit of arm strength and some periods of standing for students.
After our lunch break, students will learn how to needle felt details onto the flag plus there will be time to sew on beads and add ribbons and tassels to complete your work. Once complete, tie to a bamboo cane and take home to display in your home or garden.
Materials: All provided.
This workshop is suitable for beginners or anyone who would like to learn more about felting. It is for adults or accompanied children 14 and over.
Please note:
