We are excited to welcome Sharon Bennett Connolly as she joins us to talk about the inimitable Nicholaa de la Haye.

The constable of Lincoln Castle for more than 50 years, Nicholaa faced down three sieges and was created sheriff of Lincolnshire in her own right. During the First Barons’ War, in the aftermath of Magna Carta, and following the death of King John, Nicholaa helped the great William Marshal defeat the rebel barons and send their French allies home. Acting ‘manfully’ and ‘without thinking of anything womanly,’ Nicholaa saved England.

Enjoy a complimentary cup of tea or coffee as our expert unveils Lincoln Castle’s rich past.
