A new dragon has landed at Lincoln Castle!
Meet Hastings, the spectacular new addition to our family of dragons, created to celebrate Lincoln's remarkable Norman story as the Bayeux Tapestry returns to the UK.
The Battle of Hastings in 1066 changed England forever, but the story didn't end on the battlefield. Just two years later, William the Conqueror established a castle at Lincoln as he sought to secure his new kingdom.
Today, Hastings sits against the dramatic backdrop of Lucy Tower, on the site of William's original Norman motte and bailey castle.
His arrival forms part of Lincoln Castle's wider programme exploring the Norman Conquest and its legacy, developed alongside the Bayeux Around Britain programme surrounding the Bayeux Tapestry's landmark exhibition at the British Museum.
