As darkness falls, the historic Castle grounds will be transformed with spectacular light installations, dazzling displays and thousands of twinkling lights, creating an enchanting Christmas experience for all ages.
Discover breathtaking new displays created especially for Lincoln Castle, alongside familiar festive favourites. Wander beneath the lights, soak up the atmosphere and experience the magic of this extraordinary setting after dark.
Look out for Father Christmas as he makes his way around the Castle, enjoy a ride on the Christmas Express, and treat yourself to delicious festive food and drink. With fairground rides, magical photo opportunities and selected dog-friendly evenings, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Whether you're making new family memories, enjoying a festive evening with friends or simply soaking up the Christmas atmosphere, Lincoln Castle Illuminated is a wonderful way to celebrate the season.
Make more of your visit: Upgrade to the Wall Walk
For an extra-special view of Lincoln after dark, add a Wall Walk upgrade to your visit.
As essential conservation work continues, a shorter section of the Medieval Wall Walk is available this Christmas, taking in the North Curtain Wall and part of the East Curtain Wall.
Please note: The Wall Walk upgrade is accessed by steps only and is not suitable for wheelchair users or visitors unable to manage stairs.
Tickets and opening times
Lincoln Castle Illuminated runs from Friday 20 November to Wednesday 23 December 2026, opening Wednesday to Sunday, with additional dates on Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 December.
- Wednesday to Friday: 5.30pm to 9pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 4pm to 9pm
- Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 December: 5.30pm to 9pm
Castle Grounds: £4 per person. Under 5s go free.
Wall Walk upgrade: Charges apply. Limited availability.
