Lincoln Castle Illuminated is back, and it’s bigger and brighter than ever before.
The magical and much-loved Christmas event will run from Friday 8 December until Saturday 23 December, giving families and friends the perfect and unmissable opportunity to get into the festive spirit.
You will be able enjoy the castle grounds bejewelled with festive lights and illuminated Christmas features, take a trip down Candy Cane Lane, and give your warmest season’s greetings to our resident castle dragons – Lucy and Norman.
We are really sorry to say that our wall walk lift is currently out of action. It doesn’t like the cold and has gone into hibernation. This means that access to the wall walk is via the spiral staircase only.
The castle has retained its popular Illuminated Wall Walk so visitors can see this historical landmark in a sparkling, festive light and take in the beautiful night-time views across the city and county. Then it's all aboard our ‘Mini Polar Express’ before enjoying other traditional fairground rides beloved by young and old.
As no Christmas event is complete without festive food, local vendors will be offering sweet treats and winter warmers, including hot chocolate and mulled wine.

The full Lincoln Castle Illuminated experience can be enjoyed for £11 (adult), £10 (concession), £6 (child), £28 (family); or you can choose to visit the grounds only for £3 per head (under 5s free).

- There will be limited capacity with timed entry to Lincoln Castle Illuminated - make sure to plan ahead to secure the date and time of your choice
- The event runs from Friday 8 December to Saturday 23 December (4 – 9pm at weekends and 5.30 – 9pm on weekdays)
- Train and fairground rides also available 10 – 3.30pm at weekends and on Thursday 21 and Friday 22
- Annual pass holders do not need to pre book
